GITS Reverse Painting

This was a fun challenge and a birthday gift for my partner! The characters and the Kanji are painted in reverse order on the glass (line art, then highlights, then shadows, then base) while the library background is painted on the frame backing. My partner is a HUGE Ghost In The Shell fan and we had been binge watching the series together. This scene is supposed to depict the final episode in Season 1 (Episode 26) of Stand Alone Complex because I LOVED how it ended and that was the moment I became a fan of the series as well. It was really tricky but it came out great and it’s still one of the pieces my partner treasures most!
